From January 7, the rebajas de invierno started. There used to be queues of waiting and urgent customers on the first day of the sale in Spain, but that is no longer visible on Spanish television and in the streets. It is also the case that sales on the internet are becoming increasingly popular, so that you no longer have to get out of your chair during the sale.
Winter Sale
The “rebajas de invierno” traditionally start after Epiphany (Reyes Magos) on January 7 and end in Spain sometime in late February or mid-March and sometimes even later. For retailers, the winter discount period is one of the most important in the country, with the highest turnovers being made.
Primeras & Segundas rebajas
Since the sale lasts so long in the winter months and summer months, they often divide it into “primeras rebajas” or the first sale which is usually the first two or three weeks and the “segundas rebajas” or the second sale which is after the second or third week takes place.
