MADRID – Nearly 530,000 homes have been sold in Spain until the end of October, the highest number since October 2007. In October, 56,958 homes were sold, an increase of 14.4% compared to 2020, while house prices and the number of mortgages have also risen .
 
Until the end of October, 527,000 homes have been sold in Spain this year with 56,958 homes sold in October, the highest number in this month since 2007 and 14.4% more than in October 2020. House prices have also increased by 7.9% on average 1,485 euros per square meter. The number of mortgages closed rose by 7% to 26,570 in October with 278,800 mortgages until the end of October. A total of 13 regions have registered a rebound in home sales, with the Balearic Islands being the region with the highest annual increase (39.4%), followed by Cantabria (24.9%), Navarra (23.3%), Andalusia (20 .6%), Galicia (19.4%), Basque Country (18.2%), Valencia region (17.2%), Catalonia (16.3%), Madrid (13.1%) and Castile and León (10.8%). There were also increases in residential property sales in Murcia (1.6%).
